Robert Bos (Rob) started his career in product development
(3 years) and has been working with Gusto Engineering
(18 years), in a long succession of design and engineering projects. He developed expert knowledge and experience in the design of offshore service vessels, mobile units and floating production units. He became member of the management team. In a special assignment, he joined SBM/Shell's Anasuria FPSO engineering team in Japan.
Rob joined Bluewater Engineering in 1995 as Engineering Manager (4 years) and supervised the engineering of 3 North Sea FPSO's, with technical responsibility for the safety cases. The work included the supervision of the required modification engineering of a purpose built tanker hull for FPSO service at Hitachi's.
Since 1999, Rob is director/owner of BOS maritime consultants bv, serving the international maritime and offshore industry. This concerns expert advice as well as project and engineering management. He is frequently involved in technical reviews of FPSO projects and other projects for Bank consortia. As a spin off he provided similar services to the Dutch super yachting industry.
On a number of occasions he served as Project Manager at Heerema Marine Contractors. This concerned the life time extension of the Balder, the design of the NBV, a motion optimised semisubmersible design without braces and the DCV Aegir, a newbuild deepwater construction vessel with advanced pipelay facilities.
Rob holds an Ir (MSc) degree in maritime technology from Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands. He is member of the Royal Institution of Engineers in the Netherlands (KIVI) and participates in ISO and NEN Workgroups on Floating Production.
He is currently engaged in business development Europe for Zee Engineering Pte in Kuala Lumpur.
